Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area

I-90 Exit 0

Lookout Pass, home of the best snow, the easiest access and the most affordable prices. It's no wonder Lookout Pass was voted the most family-friendly mountain resort in the Pacific Northwest by visitors to We're also the home of the Lookout Pass Famous Free Ski School for kids. But what skiers and riders love most about Lookout is an average of more than 400 inches of light, dry powder snow annually.

Ski Resort with biking/hiking trails during summer. Stopped by for a quick break on I-90E and curiosity about the "Exit 0". Got a picture inside with Idaho on one side and Montana on the other - while standing on the border! Cool place, with "Scandinavian" American Soldiers as founders!

Lookout is fun and cheap and gets great snow. Everyone says it gets the best snow but the powder never lasts too long before turning crusty so you have to get there in the first hour. Lookout gets tracked out really fast though because it's a pretty small mountain. The out of bounds skiing is AWESOME but you have to skate quite a ways back to the lifts. Not a ton of steep terrain either. Either way, you should definitely check this place out especially for how cheap a lift ticket is. You can find tickets on liftopia for like $20!

Nice shop easy Hiawatha Trail rentals and lunches. Great stop. Left the 5th wheel parked all day in lower lot to ride the trail, no worries! Visited July 2018.

Love this place! Fantastic snow, great runs, well maintained. With an average of over 400 inches of snow a year, this is a great place to take the family skiing or boarding. There are enough runs to challenge any level of skier/boarder, and yet be easier on the wallet than other ski resorts in the area. AND, they are expanding into more than double the area! If you like skiing in fantastic snow, this is the place to go.

You can ski this entire mountain in half a day. But the charm comes from the locals that run the slopes. Pop on chair 1 always made me smile. Local ski bums kept me entertained on well placed terrain parks. I skied here for a month straight and spent the entire time in powder. It was fluffy. 50" on fresh snow while I was there. Amazing tree runs throughout. Lift tickets are priced accordingly. Fries and nacho sauce for lunch then back on the mountain. Don't miss this place.
